Christmas is a wonderful time of year. A special time for families and friends to meet up and spend time together. To have fun and enjoy each other’s company. We warmly invite you to join with us during this Christmas time, and there’s lots going on! Our Advent Season begins with Choral Evensong on Sunday 1 December. Our annual Carol service will be on Wednesday 18 December at 6pm, with the choirs of Dry Drayton and Coton Churches: the perfect start to Christmas! Our Crib service is on Christmas Eve starting at 3pm, with carols and the story of the first Christmas. Children are most welcome to come dressed as their favourite character from the Christmas story! Revd Canon Sue will be leading Midnight Mass at 11:15pm on Christmas Eve, and Revd Lynda Taylor will be leading a service of Holy Communion for families on Christmas day at 10am. All are most welcome and we look forward to seeing you over the festive season!
The Christmas story is full of unexpected surprises. Are we willing to look at it with fresh eyes? Each year it says something new to us all: something about God and something about ourselves. The Christmas story reminds us that everyone is invited to come and see Jesus. To experience the renewal of hope and joy each Christmas brings. Jesus is the one who brings us light, love and peace. Jesus is the light which overcomes all obstacles; his light will never be extinguished. Christmas is full of wonderful surprises and great joy. So let’s celebrate and rejoice as we remember all that God has done for us and give thanks to God for the greatest Christmas gift ever: Jesus.
